Walking across the Høsebrua bridge, you see and hear the roaring river of Suldalslågen right beneath your feet! In the winter the bridge is illuminated, creating a magical mood.
Høsebrua is one of the stops along the National Tourist Route Ryfylke, just outside the town of Sand in Suldal.
In 2014, this bridge across Sandsfossen falls was named Bridge of the Year by Travel & Leisure magazine. Built in steel and concrete, the 29 metre long bridge weighing 23 tonnes was designed by Rintala Eggertsson Architects. The construction’s open and closed areas create a very special sensory experience, enhancing the visitor’s impressions in close contact with the foaming waters of Suldalslågen and Sandsfossen falls. New trails were established for when the bridge opened in 2013. When you visit the bridge, you are invited to take a relaxed hour-long walk on the easygoing trail.
Attractions in the area include Sandsfossen falls, the Salmon Studio and the Suldal Tourist Information Office.
