Hydropower

Suldal is one of the big power plant-municipalities in Norway. The development started in the 1960s, when the rain catchment area for the lake, Suldalsvatnet, became subject to comprehensive regulations. First came Røldal-Suldal and later on, Ulla-Førre. Approximately 8 percent of the overall power production in Norway is performed in the municipality, where the Blåsjø lake is the largest reservoir.
