Food Treasures Throughout the Year

Christmas 2021 marked the launch of the series 'Food Treasures in Suldal' on TV Haugaland. It offers insights into Suldal's excellent food traditions and products. The series is one of several initiatives resulting from strengthened collaboration between the tourism industry and local food producers in Suldal. The series is supported by Suldal Municipality, Suldal Vekst, Suldal Business Association, and private businesses.

During Christmas, the TV team visited, among others, Mo Laksegard, Hanakamneset Gard, Vikane hyttetun, Velbekomme, and Bentes Himabakst. We also featured local tradition bearers who shared stories about local Christmas traditions in the villages of Suldal. Everything from Christmas beer, outdoor-reared pork ribs, Suldalslefse, potato cakes, Suldal trout, and hovost was served, to name a few. In 2022, 8 more episodes will be produced, focusing on food and experiences throughout the seasons. From lambing and fishing to harvesting fruit and berries, and hunting. Simultaneously, nature experiences and old as well as new food traditions in Suldal will be explored.
