Stavanger/Oanes – Tau – Hjelmeland – Suldal – Røldal
Length: 260 km
The journey along the Ryfylke National Tourist Route from Stavanger to Røldal is a journey of contrasts, offering bare high mountains, lush hillsides, steep cliffs, and deep fjords. Along the route, you'll find mighty waterfalls, vibrant villages, the world-renowned Lysefjord, and a host of great detours. Suldal is located along the route and is an excellent stop if you wish to explore more of the region before continuing your journey. Read more about the route here.
Suldal- Låtefoss-Odda-Kinsarvik-Jondal-Granvin
Length: 158 km
Suldal is located in the far northeast of Rogaland, close to Vestland and the beautiful Hardanger region. A visit to Suldal can therefore easily be combined with a trip along the Hardanger National Tourist Route. Here you'll encounter dramatic scenery, steep valley sides, blooming apple orchards, and mighty waterfalls. Read more about the route here.
Suldal-Sauda-Røldal-Suldal
Length: 220 km
The architectural tour from Suldal via Sauda and Røldal is the finest collection of architectural works in Fjord Norway, and the only tourist route in Norway offering a combination of historical and modern architecture in a day-trip format. Here, you can combine spectacular nature with magnificent works such as Allmannajuvet, Høsebrua, power architecture at Nesflaten, Ostasteidn, Venterommet, and Svandalsfossen.
Sand – Gullingen – Blåsjø – Gullingen – Erfjord – Jelsa - Sand
Length: 174 km
Start your day in the municipal center of Sand, close to Sandsfjorden. You'll quickly gain elevation and can enjoy magnificent high-mountain scenery along narrow, lightly trafficked construction roads before reaching Blåsjø, located 1000 meters above sea level. Blåsjø is Norway's largest dam complex, and part of the Ulla Førre development from the 1980s, which at the time was Northern Europe's largest hydropower project. The return journey can be taken via the fjord villages of Erfjord and Jelsa. Jelsa has been named Rogaland's most idyllic place and is among the best-preserved coastal towns in Ryfylke. NB! Please note that the road to Blåsjø is closed during the winter season due to snow.
Stavanger – Hjelmeland – Suldal – Røldal – Folgefonna - Odda – Jondal – Bergen
Length: 392 km
The historic route from Stavanger to Bergen was established in the 19th century by tourists who traveled by horse and carriage to experience nature, glaciers, crystal-clear water, thundering waterfalls, and idyllic fjords. To this day, the inland route between Stavanger and Bergen attracts numerous tourists for its exciting roads, striking contrasts, and idyllic hamlets. Read more about the route here.
Suldal - Songesand - Lysebotn – Øygardsstøl – Setesdal – Telemark
Length: 537 km
Suldal is located in close proximity to Lysefjorden, offering fantastic experiences such as Preikestolen, Lysebotn, and Kjerag. A trip here can be combined with the magnificent Skuleskardvegen, which winds its way from Rogaland in the west, across Sirdal and Setesdalsheiane. The route meanders between mountains and fjords, and has been named one of Norway's best biker routes by Bike magazine. Read more about the route here.

During a visit to Suldal, we recommend a visit to the outdoor seating area of Ryfylke Fjordhotel, a salmon safari and a visit to Mo Laksegard's farm brewery, a visit to Laksestudio (open during the summer season) and Sandsfossen, as well as a variety of great hiking trails and nature experiences throughout the municipality.
