At Svultanuten, you'll find "Suldalstunga," which is our very own version of "Trolltunga." The hike is also shorter and less visited than the popular tourist attraction in Hardanger. Svultanuten is located by Napen, just below Svultanuten, between Sandsa and Nedre Moen.
At the top of Hellandsnuten, on good days, you'll get a fantastic view over five entire fjords, and on clear days, you can see all the way to Stavanger! The hike is demanding, but a great view and a little snack at the top make the effort worthwhile. More information about the hike can be found under "Hiking."
The small cabin on an islet in Lovrafjorden is perhaps one of the most photographed spots in the municipality. Who wouldn't want to spend a weekend here? You'll find the cabin when driving along RV 13 between Erfjord and Sand, right by the turn-off towards Jelsa, Sandsfjord Bridge, and the Ropeid Peninsula.
The summit of Grytenuten on the Ropeid Peninsula offers fantastic views of the fjord landscape and islands, and the hike is just as beautiful in summer as in winter. At the top, you'll also find binoculars so you can explore the view more closely. The trip can be combined with a visit to the charming fjord villages of Marvik and Hebnes, and perhaps even a stop at the shop in Vatlandsvåg?
In Suldalsheiane, along the Blåsjøvegen road from Gullingen to Blåsjø, you'll find this beautiful pool that has become a popular Instagram spot and swimming area. You'll find the spot on the left side of the road as you head up towards Blåsjø, between the parking lot at Øvre Moen and the tunnel up to Oddatjøndammen. The water temperature is often what, at its best, can be called "refreshing" so here you just have to grit your teeth and smile for the camera!
