Fishing in the fjord

Suldal is located close to several fjords in inner Ryfylke, offering great fishing opportunities and a wide variety of fish species. You do not need a fishing license to fish in the fjord, but you must keep your distance from river mouths and be aware of the regulations for protected species. Fishing tips

• Good fishing spots include the Hydro pier at Sand, Hylen along the Rv13, Jelsa pier, Erfjord pier, and Vatlandsvåg pier.
• All the piers have parking nearby and concrete surfaces that extend right to the water's edge.
• Note: Outside the Suldalslågen river, there is a protected zone where all fishing for salmon and sea trout is prohibited year-round. Fishing for saltwater species is permitted more than 100 meters from the boundary between the river and the sea.
