Blåsjø is located in the Suldal mountains and is Norway's largest energy reservoir, held in place by 11 dams of various sizes. Storvassdammen is Norway's largest embankment dam, Oddatjørndammen is the highest, and Førrevassdammen is 1,270 meters long and 90 meters high. The road leading in starts from Rv13, passing Gullingen Tourist Center and crossing the mountain.
Power tips
Drive to Oddatjørndammen or Førrevassdammen, where there is road access and parking right at the site.
Pay the toll at youpark.no within 48 hours, or purchase a season pass.
Show consideration for the wild reindeer: motorized traffic to Storvassdammen is prohibited.
The road is generally open between July and October and closes when the snow arrives. Blåsjø is also great for cycling on the mountain roads.
