2. Bring the family to Suldal Bad

Suldal's own public bath, Suldal Bad, offers a swimming pool, therapy pool, climbing wall, slide, diving tower, sauna, and outdoor hot tub, all with a fantastic view of the fjord landscape.

3. Enjoy delicious local food from Suldal and the region

In Suldal, you can choose from a variety of excellent cafes and restaurants where local traditions are strong. Enjoy a venison burger, a salmon dish, or an après-ski lunch, savor a four-course dinner at a design hotel, join a guided tour of a farm brewery, or have dinner with panoramic views over Sandsfjorden.

Several places in Suldal also have farm shops where you can take home the best local produce or bring it to your cabin.

4. Ski Orienteering Tour 2026

As is tradition, Suldal O-lag offers ski orienteering in the Gullingen area. Suldal O-lag sets out 40 orienteering posts here. The whole family can participate and find the posts.

If there's little snow on the trails, you can reach the posts on foot, or get out your snowshoes and poles. 

 

5. Welcome to Ryfylkemuseet's main location, Nesasjøhuset, in Sand

Nesasjøhuset features a museum shop, exhibitions for all ages, and, not least, their interactive and popular Kvitebjørnen. Here you can listen and watch, dress up as princes or princesses, and climb in the three castles.

6. Visit the municipal center of Sand with cafes and local shops

In Sand, you'll find good and pleasant shops with most of what you need. Here you'll find, among other things, clothing stores, a bookstore, a pharmacy, electronics, furniture, shoes, interior design, and grocery stores.

Cafes like Kulp and Drøs mat & kaffebar offer a variety of delicious dishes made with local ingredients. Don't miss the traditional 'komle' Thursday!

7. Winter hike

Suldal is a treasure trove also for the avid hiker, with 5 of the 7 highest peaks in Rogaland. All year round, you can enjoy a rich network of summit hikes, round trips, and more relaxing routes for all levels and preferences.

 Here you'll be rewarded with fantastic views of the fjord and mountains for your efforts, or you can take a shorter trip or try our cultural trails.

8. Experience wonderful nature in our villages

From each village in Suldal, you can experience wonderful nature close to fjords, mountains, lakes, and rivers. From the Ropeid peninsula, you can take in the fjord landscape from Grytenuten, in Suldalsosen, you can hike along Suldalslågen, and in Erfjord, you can take a stroll along the fjord's edge. 9. Bring your family to the cinema, bowling, and cultural experiences

The Cultural Centre in Suldal offers cinema with the newest films several days a week. In addition, they have their own bowling alley with three lanes. Throughout the year, the Cultural Centre offers a range of great concerts and performances for all ages. You can find the cinema and cultural program at www.suldal.kulturhus.no
