Kulp Bistro is centrally located at Garaneset in Sand. In their modern premises, they offer a varied menu of tempting dishes. The cafe has a diverse menu including fish soup, daily specials, a burger menu, and pizza. They have their own playroom for the little ones and a great outdoor area for those who wish to enjoy their meal there. For owner and chef Terje Bjørndal, the food philosophy is strong: "The goal is to serve local, authentic, and honest food." In the summer of 2024, they will also open a small local food store in the adjacent premises.
Kulp is open every day throughout the week, making the cafe a popular choice for friends, families, and colleagues looking for an easy lunch or a more substantial dinner. Kulp also offers take-away for those who wish to bring their food home, and catering for parties and larger events. Here, the chefs develop the menu together with you according to your wishes.
For Terje and the culinary team at Kulp, it is also important to use local and short-travelled ingredients from the local community. The food should be as uncomplicated and simple as possible. Terje himself is an avid hunter who enjoys being out in the forest where good and pure ingredients are abundant. He can also serve whole-grilled lamb or pork for large events. The food should preferably have a local story. "We focus on food with local roots. Therefore, we buy locally sourced food where we ourselves have influenced the process to achieve the perfect product. These are products we proudly serve in our banquet menus," says Bjørndal.
