Stepping through the doors of Mo Laksegard is like entering a British salmon lodge. Classic furniture and photos of a happy angler with a record salmon adorn the walls, alongside pictures of King Olav during his visit to Suldal. Out in the bar, you sit under a glass roof, looking directly out at the popular pool, which serves both as a training pool for guests trying the Salmon Safari and as a swimming pool when the weather is warm. They have 40 beds, distributed among cabins and apartments.
Mo Laksegard offers a range of enjoyable experiences close to the river and the surrounding area. The Salmon Safari is a unique offering where you can float down the river in a dry suit/wetsuit, mask, and snorkel to explore life in the Suldalslågen river. It's quite magical when you get up close to a large salmon.
In 2021, Mo Laksegard also launched a brand new product: Moskjelen event area. Here, they have excavated an almost 100-meter-deep giant's kettle, which has given the area its name. From Moskjelen, you can gather friends and groups to enjoy local specialties with a view of the Suldalslågen river. The area also features its own sauna, cultural trail, and hot tub. The sauna accommodates 20 people.
Locally sourced food is also a hallmark of the salmon farm; for example, they receive forest pork from their neighbor in the village. Short distances to quality ingredients also yield excellent results in the kitchen, where flavorful dishes are conjured up. The company also brews its own beer, which can be purchased at the bar. The beer varieties have, of course, been given local names such as Mørk Suldal (Dark Suldal) and Glad Laks (Happy Salmon). Additionally, they offer beer tasting and brewery tours as a separate product.
Season: All year round.
Capacity: 7 cabins/apartments with a total of 40 beds, offering activities such as salmon fishing, river expeditions, salmon safari, and guided tours to their farm brewery.
