Stranddalen Tourist Cabin is managed by Stavanger Tourist Association and is often called "The Pearl of Ryfylkeheiane". The hike to Stranddalen starts from Øvre Moen in the Gullingen area, beginning with a steep ascent before flattening out as you approach the cabin. The cabin has a total of 12 beds, in addition to a loft. The trip to Stranddalen can also be combined with various child-friendly and more demanding hikes in Ryfylkeheiane, fishing in mountain lakes, and swimming and enjoying the fresh mountain air.
During the summer season, the cabin is staffed by friendly hosts who welcome you, look after visitors, and serve delicious homemade meals based on local ingredients. A couple of times a week, they also serve "komle" dinner, and it's popular to plan a day trip to the cabin on these days. Stranddalen also has a license to sell alcohol.
Stranddalen is suitable for a day trip or as part of a longer round trip between the various tourist cabins in Suldalsheiane.
Season: All year (staffed only during the summer season)
Capacity: 16 rooms with a total of 48 beds (+ loft)
