The Gullingen Area is located approximately 500-700 meters above sea level and is a hub for great nature experiences in Skattkammeret Suldal. The area has been used for a long time, with traces found of Stone Age people who hunted and Vikings who extracted iron ore. In the 1980s, the area became home to Northern Europe's largest hydropower development. Ulla-Førre, which has put Suldal on the map as a power giant, accounts for 8% of Norway's annual power production. Today, the area is used as an outfield pasture for sheep and is a focal point for excellent experiences in Ryfylkeheiane.
