A stroll close to power and water in Nesflaten

On a stroll through the village of Nesflaten, one can experience wonderful local culture and rich architecture. The magnificent view over Lake Suldalsvatnet is a highlight.

Nesflaten is a protected area due to its unique architecture, which emerged as a result of the Røldal-Suldal hydroelectric power development in the 1960s. The detached houses at Kilen, the power station, and the Energihotel all feature a distinct functionalist style, where concrete, minimalism, and flat roofs contrast with typical West Norwegian architecture.

Follow the road past the school's playground, past the swimming pool, and to the old wooden bridge. From the bridge, you can walk to Granden, a small island in the river, which is particularly fun for children to play on. The path is easily accessible and suitable for wheelchairs and walkers.
