Salmon Safari – Float down the river with the fish

Wearing a dry suit, snorkel, and mask, you float freely with the current in the Suldalslågen river on a salmon safari with Mo Laksegard. Some places are so shallow it feels like you have to suck in your stomach to avoid scraping against the flat stones on the riverbed, while in other places you pass pools more than 12 meters deep.

This is an otherworldly nature adventure. One salmon darts past, another stands still, pushing against the current. The underwater vegetation changes between green aquatic plants, fine sand, and bright, smooth stones. One guide floats with the group in the water, while another guide follows the group in a canoe.

You must be at least 14 years old, able to swim, and not have epilepsy or other conditions triggered by cold or stress. Wear warm, comfortable base layers. The rest of the equipment, such as a dry suit, shoes, and diving mask, will be provided. The trip takes approximately 2.5 hours.

During the summer season, Mo Laksegard offers regular tours on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Outside of the season, they offer salmon safaris for groups of more than six people. More information can be found at molaks.no.
