Liafjellet (639 m.a.s.l.) is a popular summit hike near Sand town center, with good trail marking all the way. The hike starts at the parking lot along RV 13, approximately 1.3 km west of Bergekrossen, just before Velaskaret.
The first part of the hike follows a gravel road before the trail takes over. Through forest terrain, you gradually climb upwards, and eventually, the landscape opens up to exposed high mountain terrain with wide views in all directions. The trail can sometimes be steep with loose rocks, so good footwear is recommended.
At the summit, you'll find a cairn and a "summit book" where you can sign your name. The hike is a round trip along the same path.
