Litunet cluster farm

High up on the hillside, with panoramic views over Hylsfjorden in Suldal, lies the farm Litunet – almost 300 steep meters up from the fjord.

The farmyard features 13 buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries, which house many old artifacts. The arrangement of buildings for various purposes gives the farmyard a medieval character, while the buildings themselves were constructed using craft traditions that date far back in history. The farmyard is among the most historically valuable farmyards in this part of the country, and is thus of national interest. The Directorate for Cultural Heritage protected Litunet in 1974. The landscape around Li is a characteristic West Norwegian cultural landscape with small cultivated plots, stone fences, and clearance cairns.

During the summer season, they offer, together with the Hylsfjord cruise by Helgøy Skyssbåt, the opportunity to visit the farm by taking the historic path up from the fjord. More information can be found at ryfylkemuseet.no.
