The Waiting Room at Ropeid was completed in 2016 and features a truly unique design where the mountains and fjord landscape become part of the room through large glass windows. The building was constructed under the auspices of the National Tourist Route Ryfylke and was designed by Jensen & Skodvin.
In 2021, the quay at Ropeid was further developed with large asphalt surfaces and coarse materials extending towards the fjord, featuring various furniture, benches and tables, lanterns and lamps. The area was designed by KAP Arkitekter, aiming to blur the line between culture and nature. The idea is to combine rest and relaxation with landscape restoration.
Easily accessible: The area around The Waiting Room and Ropeid quay is easily accessible with paved areas right up to the fjord. You can also enter The Waiting Room through a wide door, with a low step of less than 1 cm. The interior of The Waiting Room is spacious.
