Holmevasshytta Tourist Cabin

Holmevasshytta is Stavanger Tourist Association's highest-located cabin, at 1130 meters. The cabin is a day's hike south from Haukeliseter, or half a day from Sandvatnet in Suldal (on the route between Bleskestadmoen and Holmavatnet).

The cabin by Holmavatnet is beautifully situated on the wide Fidjaflatene with a great view over Holmavatn. This was once the old travel route between Roalkvam and Flothyl. Holmavatn is a self-service cabin with a provisions store and is accessible all year round.

You can choose to sleep in the main cabin or the annex nearby. There are 20 beds in the cabin and 6 beds in the annex. Please note that Holmevatn is closed during the first two weeks of the reindeer hunting season each year. Contact the tour center at Stavanger Tourist Association if you have any questions. Access in summer is via a marked trail from Haukeliseter to Holmevatnhytta (6 hours). Furthermore, there are also marked routes to Kvanndalen, Bleskestadmoen, and partially marked to Sloaros. Trails are marked with branches to/from Haukeliseter during the school winter holiday, to Sloaros from March 1st, and further to Bleskestadmoen until Easter.

DNT membership cards are valid as fishing licenses on the Rogaland side of Holmavatnet and downstream along Bleskestadåna, including Sandvatnet and Litlavatnet. Others must purchase fishing licenses, which can be found at inatur.no.
